Regional Cardiac Rehabilitation Event - Feb 25th
Thursday 30th January 2020
An event aimed to showcase the research around patient preference for cardiac rehabilitation care packages will take place in February.
The South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Five Year Plan has a commitment to have a particular focus on improving cardio-respiratory health and in line with national ambitions, to enhance the number of people who benefit from cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
Exploring the preferences of patients when they become eligible for cardiac rehabilitation is fundamental to understanding the care that patients want and are willing to engage with after a cardiac diagnosis, intervention or event. This information could enable the design of a ‘menu-based’ cardiac rehabilitation service that appeals to many patients who choose not to engage in current cardiac programmes.
This event will particularly focus on the research study which will explore the preferred Cardiac Rehabilitation care package for patients with cardiac disease, among other clinically-focused areas and will particularly focus on the research study, but will also provide:
• an overview of the rehab programme of work across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw
• an overview of the role of the Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre in improving population health and well being through innovations that help people move
• the British Heart Foundation and British Lung Foundation focus on recovery and support for people with heart, circulatory and respiratory disease
