Help shape the future of health and care services in your area
Wednesday 24th April 2019
The NHS is changing and it needs your help.
Health and care organisations in South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw want to know how people across the region think they could better support the health and wellbeing of the people of Barnsley, Bassetlaw, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield, and are asking people to share their views via an online Healthwatch survey and at a number of events over the coming months.
These local conversations follow the publication of the NHS Long Term Plan, which advises on how health and care services nationally will develop over the coming years to improve people’s health and wellbeing. The partnership will use the findings of the conversation to help develop a South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw five year plan.
To ensure that it reflects local needs and to make sure that you, your family and your community get care where and when you need it, it’s important that we hear your thoughts. Let us know about your recent experience of health and social care services. No matter how big or small the issue, we want to hear about it.
You can take part in the Healthwatch Survey here or attend one of two regional events taking place on Thursday 6 June at 10.30am or 5.30pm at The Source near Meadowhall. To find out more details about the event see the ‘Current Events’ tab on the Get Involved page.
Professor Des Breen, Medical Director for the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Integrated Care System said: “We have some excellent services in our region and we want them to continue being the safest and highest quality for everyone. Along with all of the NHS, we will benefit from our share of the extra £20bn funding announced by the Government last year and our focus is on designing local services to meet people’s needs.
“We have an opportunity to work together better to deliver the best care for patients – wrapping support, care and services around people as individuals, removing organisational barriers and putting the needs of people and patients first.
